  • NATURAL SCIENCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

    The object of this study focuses on the physical, chemical, biological and evolutionary processes, the understanding of their relationship with the cultural processes that enable breakthroughs but are poorly managed. This destroys the health and the harmony of the environment. The object is also to help develop curiosity, scientific thinking, investigative attitude, awareness of the value of life, respect and care for the environment.

  • SOCIAL SCIENCES

    Its object of study is man, as a social being and his relationship with the world. To develop critical thinking skills for life in the community and national identity. It has specialized teachers in different branches of social sciences, relevant literature and resources required for learning. Project leads the Education for Democracy, Peace and Coexistence and the Day of the Colombian pride.

     

    Philosophy The object of study is the formation of structure though a series of thoughts related to the ability to pose questions, to analyze texts and contexts, to understand the various disciplines that make up the philosophy (anthropology, logic, epistemology, ontology processes, ethics and aesthetics among others.), assuming a critical attitude, based on a set of values that qualify man.

     

    Economics and politicalscience The objects of study are power relations, management and equitable distribution of goods and services. Political Science understand the institutions formally in power (government) and the ways in which struggles for power occur (political parties). Be introduced to processes and ideologies that are struggling to maintain power. In terms of economy the various theories that have been created to explain the economic phenomenon in the world, its historical evolution and its implications in social and cultural life of humanity.

  • PHYSICALEDUCATION, RECREATION AND SPORTS

    The object of study is the movement through which develop and strengthen physical, and intellectual capacities that permit a person to understand and interact with their environment. The achievements are expressed though agility, accuracy, rhythm, harmony, body care, health, organization of time, space and social interaction processes. It has tools for sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball and under their responsibility are Tomasinas Olympics projects and sports schools. Teachers as well as being licensed in a specific field know they have specializations in different sports that the institution provides.

  • HUMANITIES FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH)

    The object of study is the learning of English as a foreign language on the communicative approach that strengthens the skills of speaking, writing, listening and reading. This allows the student to know and appreciate other cultures, as well as the understanding of scientific and technical knowledge expressed in English. Develop communicative thinking differently than their mother tongue and open new possibilities for interaction with the global world language. His teachers have not only language proficiency, but the educational preparation required for their work. Resources photocopying, audio and audiovisual materials are supported by the Language Laboratory. Oriented projects of immersion abroad and summer camp (Summer Camp).

  • CASTELLANAHUMANITIES, SPANISH

    The object of study is the development of communication processes and of the language. Where the following skills are strengthened: listening, reading and analyzing; to know how to express oneself autonomously both orally and in writing. Language is the facility of being human par excellence, which has allowed him to reign over the world, communicate and learn. Therefore, it is intended that students learn to use it to strengthen the construction of verbal and nonverbal communication, using various forms of reading and text production as a significant and cultural process; an approach to grammar, promoting the habit of reading, interpretation and analysis of texts.

  • MATHEMATICS

    The object of study is the logical, critical and creative thinking that allows students access to scientific knowledge reflected through codes and solve the problems raised by the environment. Develop and apply logical-mathematical thinking, counting with a team of teachers with extensive experience, academic preparation and a project that is his course. Under his responsibility is the institutional activity named Mathematical environments.

  • DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN AND CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

    The object of study is man in his relationship with God. Its mission is to evangelize and for that accompanies the life of the community and its members by facilitating the process of accompaniment and discernment. The team is composed of teachers trained in Pastoral Education and Social Work. As valuable resources there is the estate in Anolaima Aquinas and St. Ecce Homo Convent in Villa de Leiva for spiritual retreats, in addition there are videos, library materials, and rigorous training with the team.

    Educación Religiosa busca orientar y acompañar el proceso de formación que les permita a los estudiantes preguntarse y cuestionarse por la vida, para así hallarle sentido a su existencia, desde el proyecto de vida que ha cimentado en los valores y que su experiencia religiosa le aporta. El maestro en esta asignatura, tiene la responsabilidad de proporcionar una serie de conocimientos y datos acerca del fenómeno religioso, está llamado a ser un orientador, un guía, una persona que alimenta la vida de fe y promueve la reflexión, buscando en sus educandos la formación y crecimiento espiritual dando sentido a la vida a la luz de la palabra de Dios, como colegio católico que somos. Lidera el proyecto de convivencias, la vida sacramental de la institución, la asesoría espiritual y la oración.

    Educación ética y en valores humanos tiene como objeto de estudio la construcción en los estudiantes de una personalidad sólida apoyada en el desarrollo de una conciencia moral autónoma.

  • TECNOLOGÍA E INFORMÁTICA.

    El objeto de estudio es la tecnología, su funcionamiento e impacto en la vida humana; al igual que el mundo informático con sus efectos y dificultades que le plantea la sociedad. Desarrolla en los estudiantes un pensamiento tecnológico y la capacidad para resolver problemas utilizando los recursos que la ciencia y la técnica provee. Cuenta con tres salas de informática, software especializado, un servidor que concentra y distribuye la información, servicio de internet e intranet. El equipo está conformado por licenciados e ingenieros de sistemas y tienen entre sus funciones, además de la tarea académica y pedagógica, servir de soporte pedagógico a los demás campos de saber específicos en el manejo de diferentes software educativo. Lidera el Proyecto de Ciencia y Tecnología.

  • EDUCACIÓN ARTÍSTICA Y CULTURAL.

    El objeto de estudio es la manifestación artística vivenciada y expresada a través de la danza, la música, el dibujo, la expresión corporal, el diseño y su efecto en la formación del ser humano. Desarrolla la percepción, la recursividad, la sensibilidad, el talento musical, la expresión corporal, la creatividad y el ingenio. Cuenta con profesores de Música, Danza, Dibujo artístico, Dibujo Técnico y Diseño Gráfico, salas adecuadas para el trabajo de cada arte, instrumentos musicales y el apoyo para participar en espacios artísticos de otras instituciones. Bajo su responsabilidad está la ambientación artística de los diferentes eventos institucionales, grupos musicales y el Salón de Arte Fray Angélico.
